Always Fun

If you check back to the beginning of my YouTube channel, you will see that I have enjoyed using mixed media on my layouts since…..well….forever 🙂  I have a lot of mixed media supplies in my stash because I have been a painter/crafter of sorts for many years (decades, in fact #sadly#old#notquiteasenior).  I love to use all sorts of fun stuff in paper crafting; this layout I am sharing today is reminiscent of my love of paint and beautiful colors.

I started by treating my white card to some opaque gesso, and then dry brushed acrylic paint in stripes onto the paper.  This is an extremely easy way to create a background…this is not rocket science…just a very simple technique to create some interest.  Turns out if you have some paint and ink you can create some fun stuff on your paper for a background without patterned paper!

I used two photos for my layout and some products from Crate Paper Oasis.  By the way, who else out there loves anything made by Crate Paper??  One of my favorites for sure!

The title cut file Always is from Just Nick Studios cut file store.  Nicole Nowosad has some of my favorite cut files…oh…and she is Canadian!!  I try to support creators who create and sell in Canadian dollars as much as possible.  I buy from a variety of places, but try to support Canadian artists as much as I can.  There are some really awesome Canadian online shops.  Scrap ‘n Stamp is a good one as is R & R Scrapbooking.  Rhea at R & R is out of Edmonton and she will ship your product the day of the order in most cases.  I get my stuff from her either the next day or within two days!  That’s amazing!

Here are some photos of my layout and the link to the video.  Thanks so much for stopping by and supporting my crafty side…I truly appreciate it!
